The Nipmuc plan to develop an Agri-hood using Indigenous land use models where people actively use traditional and in-depth local knowledge of the land to create resiliency and sustainability while maintaining a deeply reciprocal relationship with the earth and its kin. For the families, it’s a chance to grow and eat healthy, life-maintaining foods. The Agri-hood is a way to help people develop real relationship with the land and to build community among people.
Belchertown sits on unceded Indigenous land – this is a chance to return the land to the descendants of its original stewards at little cost to the state or town.

Belchertown-Nipmuc Farm Conservation Alliance
We are a group of Belchertown residents and other allies working with the state-recognized Hassanamisco Nipmuc Band (the Native peoples of our area) who intend to help conserve the Lampson Brook Farm and the legacy of farming in our town.
