The Hassanamisco Nipmucs currently grow food at the Hassanamesit Reservation in Grafton and at the Pequoig Farm which straddles the towns of Orange and Athol. In addition, many tribal members grow food at their homes and apartments. Teaching tribal members to grow, forage, and preserve food are key elements to the tribe’s food sovereignty goals. The Nipmucs are currently constructing a commercial kitchen on the reservation to allow members to create value-added products for sale or personal use.
